Abstract:
The work aims to prepare stainless steel strainers with low wettability and adhesion to water and oil. Stainless steel strainers with superhydrophobic and high oleophobic surfaces were prepared by etching the strainers with FeCl3 solution, calcining them at high temperature, and modifying the strainer surfaces with (heptafluoro-1,1,2,2-tetrahydrodecyl) trimethoxysilane. Morphology and composition of the strainer surfaces were analyzed with scanning electron microscope, atomic force microscope and Fourier transform infrared spectrometer. Surface wettability was measured with contact angle meter. Corrosion resistance of the samples was studied with electrochemical workstation. Binary micro-nano rough structure was fabricated on the surface of stainless steel strainer. Contact angle with deionized water, glycerol, soybean oil was 152, 145.2 and 140.5, respectively. Rolling angle with deionized water, glycerol, soybean oil was 0.5, 2 and 8, respectively. Electrochemical parameters of the treated stainless steel strainer were significantly improved and inhibition rate reached 95.6%. The superhydrophobic and high oleophobic stainless steel strainer has low wettability and adhesion to water and oil, as well as better corrosion resistance.
