Abstract: |
The work aims to study corrosion inhibition effect of different composite aromatic Schiff base corrosion inhibitor for N80 steel in oilfield water. The inhibiting rate of four kinds of composite Schiff base was compared by static weight- loss and dynamic weight-loss methods. The corrosion inhibition effect of composite Schiff base in oilfield water was characterized by electrochemical test, scanning electron microscope and EDS. A layer of protective film mainly consisting of iron, carbon and oxygen elements formed on surface of the sample with composite aromatic Schiff added to the oil field water. The corrosion rate decreased slowly as addition of four corrosion inhibitors reached 90 mg/L. The inhibiting efficiency of type a was the best among all corrosion inhibitors. Provided that 90 mg/L was consumed, corrosion rate of N80 carbon steel reduced to 0.0087 mm/a, self-corrosion potential increased from -0.8112 V to -0.7345 V, self-corrosion current reduced from 77.79 μA to 5.410 μA and inhibiting rate reached 93.05%. All four composite Schiff base composite corrosion inhibitor show good inhibiting efficiency for N80 steel in oilfield water with order of inhibiting efficiency as: a>b>d>c. |
