Abstract:
      Objective To improve the electrochemical properties of AB3-type hydrogen storage alloy. Methods The AB3 -type Mm0.78Mg0.22Ni2.48Mn0.09Al0.23 Co0.47( Mm consisted of 82. 3% La and 17. 7% Nd) alloy was modified by a solution consisting of HF and NaF. The effects of surface treatment on the phase structure, electrochemical properties and kinetic properties of the alloy were systematically investigated. Results XRD results showed that MgF2 was formed on the surface of the alloy particles after fluorination treatment. The maximum discharge capacity was enhanced and the capacity retention rate C50 /Cmax increased from the original 83. 3% to 92. 8% . Furthermore, the kinetic properties of the alloy electrode were also improved. Conclusion The phase structure of the alloy was changed after fluorination treatment, and the electrochemical properties of the alloy were improved.
