Abstract:
In order to develop an environment friendly method to form chemical conversion coating on aluminum surface without the toxic hexavalent charomium compounds, a process with ammonium molybdate and potassium penmanganate as the oxidants in the treating solution was mvestigated. The deep-yellow molydate conductive conversion coating on the aluminum alloy was obtained by adding ingredients such as NaF, SnCl2, Ce2 ( S04) 3 to the aqueous solution and taking the process of immersion. To find a better process, the different dealing ways before and after treating in the conversion solution were taken. The results show that the SnCl2 can debase the electric resistance of the coatings ( to the 2. 45 mΩ . cm) . And corrosion resistance can be improved evidently by adding Ce2 ( S04 ) 3' For the aluminum alloy, the conversion coating treated with in boiling water before its treating and sealed in hot water after treating can provide excellent corrosion protection.
