Abstract:
By using zinc powders of 200, 325, 500, 800 screen mesh and Zn-Al flake mixing-ballmilled from zinc powder and aluminum powder of 325 screen mesh, respectively, mechanical coverage was formed using SnS04 as activating medium. It was found, observed by SEM, that zinc particles were mostly regular globular shape, and Zn-Al flake powder was mostly irregular structure. The metamorphose of granular zinc powers on coating superficial was fairsized, and the distortion of globe grain with spheroidicity inside the coating was less. The compactness degree of the coverage increased with increscent granularity. The compactness and smoothness degree of the coating formed by Zn-Al flake powders has inferiority over which by zinc powders of 500,800 screen mesh. But the appearance of the coverage was changed obviously in color and luster, and the brightness was also increased. The plating coat using Zn-Al flake powders could repair naturally after coating damaged. It was verified through salt mist test and polarization curve experimentation that the anticorrosion mcreased remarkably with the increscent granularity, and the growing compactness of plating coat was tested indirectly. The anticorrosion of the plating coat formed by Zn-Al flake powders was equivalent with that of the coat formed by globe granular zinc powders of 800 screen mesh.
