Abstract:
The corrosion inhibition of propiolic alcohol on pure aluminium in sodium hydroxide was investigated with different temperatures and different concentration of propiolic alcohol by weight-loss method. It is shown that the adsorption of propiolic alcohol on the surface of pure aluminium is the important reason resulted from corrosion inhibition and that the rule of adsorption conforms with Langmuirs isotherm. The experimental data are treated by the Sekine method and the correlative thermodynamics parameters are obtained. The adsorption process is the endothermic process and the entropy is increased. With the rapid increasing of the temperature, the Gibbs free energy is steadily decreased and at the same time, the inhibition efficiency is increased.
